Well, since I haven't posted anything for a while, ill post a piece of writing that I did a while ago. Some of you have seen it already, some of you haven't. Basically it sets up the meeting between my character and a friends character in a game that he is currently RPing in. I'm not gonna go into what the story is based off off, as its not really relevant, and I'm pretty sure all he wants to use Chaos for is to molest her TT_TT This story takes place... uh... a long time before the actual RP. Enjoy, and if you have any thoughts, please, don't hesitate to comment.
The Man, The Girl, The Meeting
Wandering through the burning buildings, victims of an unseen assailant, she walked. No one remembered who she was; she herself did not remember who she was. Vestiges of a once fine garment, a pretty pink dress, hung loosely in tatters around her tiny body. She tottered, tipped, and righted herself, dull eyes taking in the rolling, billowing smoke, and voracious, insatiable fire that tore through the town. Blinking against the tears that were pricked from the smoke, they were quickly wiped away with a dirty arm. Bodies lay strewn like rag dolls, broken and crumpled, all over the road, inside houses, and down into the stream that ran through the middle of the town.
Glancing around, trying to find something familiar, something that could be safe, she spied a very large building; the largest in the town, with strange rune-like markings on it, as yet untouched by fire. It was, however, surrounded by bodies of people that must have tried to run to its safety, but never made it. She walked toward it, away from the heart of the burning town, slowly and deliberately. Many endless minutes passed as short, immature legs wobbled and struggled at the distance, but finally she reached the building, breathing hard.
Walking up to the enormous stone door, she pushed with all her might. It opened easily. Stepping inside, the door closed behind her, and she was drowned in darkness. It took her eyes only a few minutes to adjust to the low light, as guttering torches moved in the darkness, but as they did, she could see that there was a pale beam of light in the middle of the room she was in, where the ceiling had a large circular hole in the middle of it. She moved toward it, in the back of her mind realizing that she was in a temple, but she could not form any solid or coherent thoughts, her mind was so fuzzy, and she let her mind wander again. Approaching the beam, she realized that it was the Moon, somehow not obscured by the smoke. Stepping into the middle of the beam, the moonlight bathed her in its silky glow, reassuring and comforting, and her eyes closed.
Somewhere off in the distance, she could hear more screams as people were driven from hiding places and were cut down in their attempt to flee. She closed the noise out. She could smell smoke again, and could hear a loud crackling and popping noise, as some of the temple hangings and wooden furnishings outside caught fire. She suppressed a small shudder, and opened her eyes. Looking down into her hands, she saw that she held something in them. Before she could fully comprehend what it was, the door to the temple slammed open.
Not even flinching, she slowly lifted her head to look at the strange man that had barged into this sacred building. He was large, with an eye patch over one of his haunted violet eyes and a giant sword carelessly tossed over one shoulder, pristine and reflecting the small glow from the moonlight; his left forearm was a metal gauntlet. Smoke started to pour into the temple, as the fire continued to spread, burning everything in its path.
The man halted when he saw her, his eye widening for a moment. She gazed back into that eye, steadily and unyielding. She glowed in the moonlight, making her tiny form seem ethereal and fragile. The thing in her hand sparked, and flashed crimson for a moment, drawing their attention to her hand. They both looked down, to see 5 letters inscribed with a glittering magic on the shimmering red gem. She looked back up at the tall man, her brows furrowed. He never took his eye off the jewel, set delicately into an intricate metalwork of platinum, blue steel, and gold. It was connected by a chain the glowed with a slight blue fire. He never took his eye off that amulet, not even as the temple began to catch fire around them, as it sparked and sputtered, and then roared into life. Never once took his eye off the word embedded in the fiery, dancing gem. CHAOS.
